Taska Moore, M.D., founder of the newly launched, Healthy Bump Club, has cared for women especially in underserved communities for over 15 years. Along with a team of other women of color specialists, Healthy Bump Club provides a digital educational, advocacy, and coaching platform aimed at improving the health of women of color to and through pregnancy. As a certified ACE health coach since 2015, she uses her knowledge regarding exercise and nutrition to guide patients towards living healthier lives.
Dr. Moore has served on the World Missions Board at West Angeles COGIC for several years, through which she continued providing quality care to women in impoverished communities internationally including countries in the Caribbean (e.g. the Dominican Republic and Cuba), South America (Brazil), and Africa (e.g. Mozambique and Kenya). In the over 10 years of missionary work, she has learned that the impact of distributing medications is limited by the available supply but health education empowers people to play an active role in their well-being and make changes that will outlast any pill. Working in communities of limited means present challenges including battling diseases that are caused or worsened by poverty and consequently, poor health habits. Determined to provide high-quality care to women with socioeconomic challenges, she provides resources to help them make better choices and change the health legacy of their families.
